Buttercup Cottage

The Buttercup Cottage is a half scale kit from Greenleaf.  I added a foundation, porch, and dormers. I removed much of the gingerbread trim and reworked the arch windows into rectangular ones.  I fashioned the house after one I saw in a magazine and instantly fell in love with!  I will be adding some landscaping later.  

The little lattice door provides access to the basement under the porch.

The foundation was made from a yard stick and the stone was created with Paperclay.  I made the screen door from a tea strainer.

The guttering was a real challenge, but I think it was worth the effort!

Landscaping complete!  The yard contains an outhouse and a little well.

The sunflowers were formed from parts of real-sized artificial sunflowers. 

There is a little well located on the right side of the yard and an outhouse in the back corner.

The last part of this project yet to be finished is the interior.

The furniture in the house is by Avon, Victorian Memories.
