Half Scale Mediterranean Pool House
The beach house was made from a Chinese kit shown above. It's smaller than half scale and has no exterior access. The house contains four rooms, living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath. All the furniture and accessories were included in the kit. Paperclay was added to the exterior, and the exterior and interior was modified to fit the new color scheme.
The exterior colors and the room were modified. Instead of the stone print papers that came with the kit, Paperclay was used on the exterior. I was first attracted to this kit by the outdoor pool.
The kitchen is viewable only through the side window. A charming wrought iron chandelier hangs over the kitchen table, but disappointedly is not viewable.
In the center of the main living space is a ceiling fan, which is only visible when the house is held above eye level.
The flooring was changed to a Spanish-type tile.
The telescope in the bedroom was a nice touch.
Resin was added to the pool to create a water-like effect.
