The 1:24 Scale Yellow Rose, 2020
The Yellow Rose is my COVID-19 project. I started working on it when we started our Stay-At-Home policy in early March. It's a 10 room, 1:24 scale dollhouse.
It was created by slightly modifying the Leon Gothic Victorian Mansion dollhouse kit by Laser Dollhouse Design.
The replacement of the roof line trim is the only exterior change made.
The porch has two points of entry.
The light fixtures are actually pencil sharpeners.
The roses are made of paper.
A small rosebush is on the left side of the house. The curtains are just a piece of lace.
Unfurnished before bathroom wall was installed.
Interior
Small partitions were added to separate the entry from the parlor. The trim was also added.
The sofa and chairs were painted green. The rugs in the house are all cross-stitched. This one carries out the yellow rose theme.
The tea cart is by Tootsietoy. The tea set is by Reutter Porcelain. A fireplace is hidden under the staircase.
With the exception of the kitchen table, all the furnishing in the kitchen are by Tootsietoy (1930-30s). All wallpaper and floorings were created on a computer and printed on a laser printer.
The second floor landing
New bedroom furniture
The bed linens are cross-stitched. The bed and dresser are vintage Concord pieces.
The bathroom fixtures are by Reutter Porcelain. The scale is by Tootisetoy.
New Bespaq bedroom furniture
The plant stand, desk and chair were made from Mini Etchers kits. A wall and door were added to the back of this area to provide an additional bathroom.
This wall was added to create the library space.
The library contains a Tootsietoy piano. On the desk sits a Corona typewriter, which seemed fitting considering the current pandemic.
A small sitting area on the third floor leads to a bedroom.
The bed and dresser are by Concord.
