Yellow Farmhouse, 1990
This is from an old Duracraft dollhouse kit. It was one of the first houses that I built made by this company. It was a struggle to slide the side walls into the grooved wooden corner boards without splitting them!
Quite a bit of landscaping went into this house. I rarely do this, as space is becoming so limited!
Duracraft Farmhouse KIt
I made and my mom dressed the farmer. Can you see the porch swing? I made it from a picture. I showed my husband the picture of the swing, saying I'd like to make one myself to which he replied, you couldn't make that...so I showed him! I also added the side screen door. The screen was made from a tea strainer.
My first and last attempt at making a tree! I used a stick from my backyard and some foliage from hobby railroad construction.
Looks like grandma's house!
The Interior
The 1st Floor Dining and Parlor
1st Floor Kitchen and Dining Room
I created the wallpaper in the kitchen to go with my "cows" theme. My dad made the cow bench or "couch." My mom dressed the granny doll.

Note the hall tree on the back right wall section of the first floor parlor.
I made this hall tree from a picture. The hooks are really pierced earring backings.

2nd Floor Bedroom
I made most of the furniture in this room along with the cross stitched quilt. I even painted the family tree which hangs on the right wall

Note the picture of my boys on the left. I pointed this picture out to my youngest son, who was just learning to walk. He grabbed the staircase handrail and started to try to walk up the steps!

3rd Floor Attic Area
I love the sewing machine! I found it at a flea market.

I made the cross stitched quilt, wall hanging, and painted the picture over the bed. The yarn winder is a painted medal pencil sharpener. There are two very old Strombecker lamps in this room. One is on the night stand. The other is standing near the fireplace. The clock on the mantle really works. The rocker and the chest are by Concord.
